National Voter Registration Day

The LWVE will participate again this year in National Voter Registration Day. First observed in 2012, it has quickly gained momentum ever since. Nearly 4.5 million voters have registered to vote on the holiday to date. Celebrated this year on September 17, 2024, LWVE volunteers work to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities and will register voters at the Evanston Public Library (main branch), Skokie Public Library and Morton Grove Public Library. Learn more about this important effort!

Register Voters – Become a Deputy Registrar

Empower others by becoming a Deputy Registrar today. The Cook County Clerk's office provides training. Many members of the League are Deputy Registrars and renew their training annually. Click here for more information on our Sept 7 Training Session, and to reserve your place!

To become a Deputy Registrar, you must be:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Registered to vote in Cook County
  • Sponsored by a civic organization (e.g., school, public library, community organization, etc.…) The LWVE is a sponsoring organization for member deputy registrars.

Election Judges and Equipment Technicians Needed!

Every election in suburban Cook County requires a team of Election Judges and Polling Place Technicians to serve voters at the polls. It’s a great way to contribute to our democratic principles as well as make a little extra money. View Cook County Clerk's vdeo on How to Work on Election Day.  Click here for more information about opportunities available and ways to apply.

Members of the LWV of Evanston may also be poll watchers. Contact LWVE Voter Services Chairperson if this interests you. Training is available.
